Readings Ephesians 3:14-21
John 6:1-21

TWO
Almighty God, our heavenly Father,`
you promised through your Son Jesus Christ
to hear the prayers of those who ask in faith.

Lord of your people:
strengthen your Church in all the world, Help us , as Paul prayed for the Church in Ephesus to know the reality of Christ dwelling in our hearts through faith and that we and the whole church would be rooted continually in love.
renew the life of this diocese, of this parish and of our individual lives that we would all continually feed upon you, the bread of life
bless Harold our bishop, and build us up in faith and love.

Lord of creation:
look with favour on the world you have made,
guide the nations in the ways of justice and of peace, we give you praise for the steps which have taken place to put into place peace in warring nations. We pray for all who are seeking the ways of justice, politicians who are having to make decisions in this and every nation. Guide their words O Lord
and bless [NI Elizabeth our Queen and all in authority]
[RI our President, ..... and all in authority].

Lord of our relationships:
comfort and sustain the communities in which we live and work.
We pray today for those who supply our daily needs. Those working in our local shops, those involved in the supply chains of supermarkets. In a world which is driven by profits and targets we pray for those who are making a living either as owners or employees of businesses that they may know that you Lord.
help us to love our neighbours as ourselves,
Enable us to serve our families and friends
and to love one another as you love us.

Lord of all healing:
relieve and protect those who are sick or suffering,
be with those who have any special need we pray particularly for those on our parish prayer list,
and deliver all who know danger, violence or oppression.

Lord of eternity,
bind us together by your Holy Spirit,
in communion with all who, having confessed the Faith,
have died in the peace of Christ,
that we may entrust ourselves, and one another,
and our whole life to you, Lord God,
and come with all your saints to the joys of your eternal kingdom. Amen

Simply Prayer

One of the privileges I have as deacon in the Anglican church in Ireland is to lead God's people in prayer. This Blog is simply a resource of prayers which I have collated as Sundays and mid week services come and go. One of my passions is to see prayer for all people, to see God answering prayer in powerful ways.
